Tasks

• Event reports
• Statements of the utilities regarding events (to be reported to the authorities) and likely to be relevant for the other BWR plants, adding remarks to causes and measures.
• Discussion of measures and recommendations to prevent events particularly happened in German NPPs from recurring.
• Discussion of the evaluations of events by the German NPP-manufacturer FANP.
• Report of the VGB-ZMA on selected national and international event reports that could be relevant for the BWR plants (VGB-, GRS-, WANO-reports).
• Plant reports, i. e. exchange of experiences regarding
• NPP operation including malfunctions (not to be reported to the authorities).
• maintenance/outage - special results/issues from inspections.
• re-equipment of NPPs
• interaction with regulators/consideration of measures how to deal with safety regulations.

Current subjects/research projects

The following research project has been initiated in April 2004: "Study of ignitability, flame accelaration, DDT and detonations in BWR-typical radiolysis gas mixtures" (Karlsruhe research centre).
