Cooperation with the Nuclear Power Plants in the WANO Moscow Area

The exchange of experience of German nuclear power plant operators with Central and Eastern European nuclear power plants was initiated in the framework of “Twinning Program” at the beginning of nineties. As permanent component of VGB’s work in the nuclear engineering sector, these activities are characterized by Workshops and Annual Director’s Meetings organized by VGB office, WANO Moscow Centre (WANO-MC), and the hosting companies.

Apart from the existing bilateral partnerships, in this way the German and Swiss nuclear power plant operators make a further contribution to the technical support of Nuclear Power Plants in the WANO-MC area and also to the advancement of an international exchange of experience.
