2) Biomass Imports to Europe and Global AvailabilityBiomass has to play an important role in the EU to meet the 2020 targets. Jointly with EURELECTRIC, VGB commissioned a research project on the availability of biomass in 2020 in the EU-27 as well as the global availability. The study was carried out by Pöyry Consulting GmbH.
3) Eleven Finalists of the Third Leading-Edge Cluster Competition are FixedOn June 22, 2011 an independent jury selected the eleven finalists of the third Leading-Edge Cluster Competition of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. These finalists also include the cluster "Rhine Ruhr Power" with its target to develop "The Power Plant of the Future" which shall become an internationally marketable product. Therefore the cluster has the opportunity to be named as one of five clusters that will be funded by the ministry with up to 40 million Euro.
4) VGB Job Market: Current VacanciesThe VGB Job Market is offering prospective persons the possibility to develop their career in the range of power and heat generation. You can find current vacancies on our homepage.
5) VGB-R612e - Protection Measures on Reinforced Concrete Cooling Towers and Chimneys against Operational and Environmental ImpactsFurther information about VGB-R612e "Protection Measures on Reinforced Concrete Cooling Towers and Chimneys against Operational and Environmental Impacts" can be viewed at the following link:
6) VGB-TW103Ve "Availability of Thermal Power Plants"The Technical-scientific Report "Availability of Thermal Power Plants" for the period 2001 to 2010 can be bought now. The report analyses 606 power plant units with a total capacity of approx. 255,000 MW.
