Electricity Generating Capacity in Central and Eastern Europe Countries

The European Commission, General Directorate Energy and Transportation (TREN), has approved funds within the scope of the CARNOT Research Programme for a study about refurbishment of Clean Coal Technology for coal-fired power plants in countries of central and eastern Europe for which a data base is to be created.

The study will be terminated in autumn 2000 and is being elaborated by the Centre for Solid Fuels Technology and Application, Ptolemais/Greece, Prof. Emmanuel Kakaras, with the participation of VGB.
