The annual VGB Workshop on Flue Gas Cleaning is organised by the VGB European Working Group "Flue Gas Cleaning" in order to provide a platform for VGB members and other interested experts for information about and discussion of developments in pollutant abatement and in the experience gained in operation of flue gas cleaning installations.

This year's workshop covers latest development of EU legislation, the status of the BREF-LCP process and current developments, optimization and operational experiences of FGD plants. Some aspects of process control and measurements will be shown as well as new results about dust removal with electrostatic precipitators and long term experiences with catalysts. A selective mercury removal step for waste water treatment will be introduced.

Presentations by specialists from all over the world provide a basis for discussion for all participants of the workshop. The workshop includes a visit of the Tusimice Power Plant with its improved desulphurization step.
