More often than not it is necessary to clean compressor bladings on gas turbines.When using fuels with strong impurities (e.g. crude oil, heavy fuel oil, coal gas)the turbine blading has also to be cleaned from time to time.For this reason the VGB scientific committee "Gas Turbines and Gas TurbineOperation" in cooperation with the turbine manufacturers worked out a VGBinstruction sheet which portrays the momentarily known cleaning procedures andshows criteria for a blade cleaning.
