The present guidelines start with definitions and general aspects valid for supervision-, limiting- and protection devices. Following this, details are presented with regard to criteria groups and potential sources of failure, measures adopted to restrict such fault potentials as well as typical configurations of redundant systems. Other sections explain the functional task requirements to be met by diverse system devices, and appropriate solutions are proposed. Finally, the purpose, measuring/monitoring points, and task functions of individual devices are presented in the form of overview tables.
