This guideline applies to bolted joints operated at temperatures of approximately 300 °C especially for bolted joints on turbine casings and steam chests, for valve body bolts as well as for flanged joints on HP and IP steam turbines whenever they are made from heat-resisting bolt materials. Upon agreement between plant owner and manufacturer they may also be used for other bolted joints, such as bolted joints on pipework, pressure vessels, pumps, valves etc. and such joints operated at temperatures below 300 °C if agreed between plant owner and supplier..
