On June 1, 2007, the REACH-Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) entered into force. By this, also each producer or importer of coal combustion products (CCPs) has to register the marketed or imported substances at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) situated in Helsinki.

On May 27/28, 2010, the EUROCOALASH 2010 conference will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The international conference EUROCOALASH is to highlight the importance of using Coal Combustion Products (CCPs) in Europe. The conference will deal with the legal and practical issues for the production of Coal Combustion Products in power plants and its beneficial use in the construction industries, e.g. cement-, concrete-, asphalt-, plasterboard-, road building- and mining industry. The conference is addressed to representatives of the power plant operators and CCP producers, the power plant and construction industry, as well as to European and national authorities, certification bodies, universities and others.
