VGB invites all ordinary members of VGB PowerTech to propose a supplier, who has delivered a project of outstanding quality, for the VGB Quality Award 2015.
The VGB Quality Award has been established to increase the awareness for the commercial value of quality and to highlight examples of suppliers who have delivered extraordinary quality in services and products. The VGB Quality Award has been extended and is now covering all electricity and heat generation technologies - renewables, distributed generation, hydro, oil-, gas- and coal fired power stations - and all kind of projects - new build, refurbishment, maintenance, or decommissioning.
As the VGB Quality Award has not been awarded in 2014 in default of the minimum number of proposals, all proposals from 2014 will be considered this year. In the future the VGB Quality Award will be awarded every two years.

The well-known VGB Conference "Power Plants in Competition" will take place on 21/22 April 2015 under the new title "Generation in Competition" to visualize the expansion of the topic portfolio to renewable and decentralized power and heat generation. In addition, the motto "Renewables and Conventional - A Strong Team for Europe" underlines this orientation beyond the classical conventional power plant technology.
Rainer Baake, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, will open the conference with the plenary speech "German Energy Politics in the European Context".
