1) New Recommendation "Research for a Sustainable Energy Supply" published

The VGB Scientific Advisory Board, consisting of 29 chairs from the power and energy business from ten European countries, has compiled his view on the current situation of power research, his concerns and suggestions in a new recommendation.

2) Heinrich-Mandel Prize for Power Plant Engineering 2008

The VGB-FORSCHUNGSSTIFTUNG (Research Foundation) has rewarded the outstanding performance of young employees with the Heinrich-Mandel Prize for over 25 years. The prize is endowed with 10,000 Euro and is awarded annually on the occasion of the VGB Congress POWER PLANTS.

Proposals may concern results from all fields of the generation of heat and power whether from practical fields of work or science. Limiting age is at 35 years. Deadline for proposals is 31st March 2008.
