The Anholt offshore wind farm will become Denmark's largest offshore wind farm with an overall capacity of 400MW.
The first monopiles have already seen driven into the seabed. The wind farm will consist of 111 wind turbines (Siemens 3.6MW-120) across an area of 88sqm, 15km from shore. The wind turbines will be erected at water depths of 15 to 19 metres, and they will have a rotor diameter of 120 metres. DONG Energy is responsible for the construction and operation of the offshore wind farm.

A project group of the VGB-WP Reference Designation and Documentation revised the VGB-Guideline B116-D2. The new draft is documented as VGB-S-823-T32 with the title "RDS-PP Application Guideline part 32: Wind Energy".
The actual draft of the VGB-Standard meets especially the requirements on reduction of degrees of freedom and rules for the application, comprehensive consideration of network distribution and infrastructure with a multitude of examples/application guides.
Following on European processes, VGB is submitting this draft for public consultation.
The consultation process is starting on February 3, 2012, and is ending on March 30, 2012, (duration 8 weeks).
To submit your commentaries and your proposals we ask you to use the attached form (example in the first line). The handover of attachments to this form is possible; the reference to the specific position within the form is to be produced.

For the further treatment meetings for rejection are planned. Information follows separately.
On November 25, 2011, the German federal environmental ministry had issued a first part of regulations for the national implementation of the Industrial Emissions Directive. On January 16, 2012 an official hearing of parties involved took place. Some of the claims which were made intersectoral by several associations were e.g.:
* Implementation of the IED provisions only for plants within the scope of application of the IED;
* Possibility to have less stringent limit values also because of the geographical location of a plant, as specified in the IED;
* Exhaust as far as possible the time frame for updating a license;
* No obligation to publish licensing application documents on the internet;
* Work towards bureaucracy reduction when implementing the IED.
There is currently no draft for a further implementation regulation part with limit values for large combustion plants and waste incineration plants.

On April 4, 2011, the new EU-Construction Products Regulation (EU 305/2011) - dated March 9, 2011 - was published in the Official Journal of the European Union. From July 1, 2013, the Regulation will replace the current Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC). The Regulation is only partly in force. Only those articles are in force since April 1, 2011, which are necessary to prepare the prerequisites for the implementation at authorities and notified bodies. For producers, the important articles will be in force from July 1, 2013. Due to this, the current Directive is valid by July 1, 2013, and also the existing rules for CE marking are valid by that date.
The Regulation will result in indirect and direct consequences for the power industry. Indirect consequences are given with the third party control (in future by notified bodies only). Direct consequences are resulting from the change from a "conformity evaluation" according the current Directive to a "declaration of performance" according to the new Regulation. A project group of the VGB Technical Committee Power Plant By-products is ordered to prepare a master for the declaration of performance. The master will be provided to producers of fly ash for concrete by May 1, 2013, at the latest.

The VGB Research Foundation has rewarded outstanding achievements by young university graduates (age limit: 35 years) working in the field of power and heat generation with the Heinrich-Mandel Prize for 30 years. The prize is endowed with 10,000 Euro and is awarded annually on the occasion of the VGB Congress POWER PLANTS. The work that is to be honoured in this way can relate either to new findings in the operation of power and heat generation plants, or to important research results.
Based on the award guideline, all VGB member companies as well as the Board of Directors, and the Technical and Scientific Advisory Boards of VGB have the right to propose candidates by April 30, 2012.
