> New Information System "Platform of Experiences with Power Plants" (PEPP) online <
VGB implemented the information system PEPP, which organizes the exchange of experiences of member companies about power plants based an fossil and renewable energy sources. The graphic user interface is multilingual taking into account international VGB members needs. Currently we offer the languages English, French, German, Italian, Portuguesen and will be available on short term Dutch. Members of the VGB "Performance Indicators" European Working Group support the database implementation broad with their professional experience.

> List of New Power Plants in Europe: Update October 2013 <
The list New Power Plants comprises power plants in planning and under construction in Europe. Energy sources like gas, hard coal, lignite, wind, water, waste etc. are considered. Based on the list, the planned total output (MW) and the portions of the sources of energy (MW) can be determined.
The current list is available in myVGB for download:

2) Improving the Relationship Between Manufacturers and Owners of Wind Turbines - Position Paper from the Owners Point of View
The utilisation of wind power is playing an important role in meeting climate the targets of the European Union. Production from wind energy sources is expected to reach almost 500 TWh in 2020, compared to only 200 TWh in 2012. In order to reach these ambitious targets, wind power plants should be installed taking into account power plant-specific criteria. Appropriate VGB-Standards, e.g. dealing with documentation issues, the power plant identification system and O&M requirements will be published by VGB PowerTech in the near term.
In a first step VGB PowerTech summarised crucial requirements from the owner's point of view. One of the main issues is that manufacturers provide detailed and comprehensive documentation to enable the owner/operator to perform safe operation and maintenance independent from the manufacturer.
The VGB Position Paper is supported by several member companies of the European Working Group "Wind Energy".
