> List of New Power Plants in Europe: Update October 2014 <
The list New Power Plants comprises power plants in planning and under construction in Europe. Energy sources like gas, hard coal, lignite, wind, water, waste etc. are considered. Based on the list, the planned total output (MW) and the portions of the sources of energy (MW) can be determined. The current list is available in myVGB for download:

1) Statements on the EC's 2030 Climate & Energy Policy Framework

After a long struggle, in the early hours of 24 October 2014, the European Council came to an agreement about the 2030 climate & energy policy framework. Referring to 1990, European CO2 emissions should be decreased by 40 per cent until 2030. The essential instrument to achieve this purpose is a reformed EU Emission Trading System (ETS). The contribution of the sectors included in the ETS is at 43 per cent (referring to 2005 figures). The target of 27 per cent renewable share in energy consumption will not be transferred into binding national targets. The increase of energy efficiency by 27 per cent is drafted least concrete.

2) Indications for legally compliant behavior

The legally compliant behavior in the committee work of VGB PowerTech e.V. has been specified on request of different international VGB members by the VGB "Code of Conduct". The current English version will be complimented by a German version shortly.

The VGB "Code of Conduct" is available here:

3) Call for Papers - VGB Workshop "Flue Gas Cleaning 2015"

The VGB Workshop "Flue Gas Cleaning 2015" takes place in
Istanbul/Turkey on May 6/7, 2015. This workshop covers all aspects
of flue gas cleaning activities as well as of online monitoring and
instrumentation for emission detection.
