VGB/VERBUND Expert Event "Digitalization in Hydropower 2021"
Enhanced digital controls can contribute to improving the performance of hydropower fleets, plants and equipment by reducing costs and optimising asset management. Digital control systems can also play a major role in improving decision-making and supporting operations to work more efficiently. The fact that a growing number of the world’s hydropower plants needs to be refurbished and modernised in the next few years makes the transformation process so highly challenging.
The international VGB/VERBUND Expert Event will provide a comprehensive overview of all topics regarding digitalization in hydropower dealing mainly with the results of newly developed and implemented innovative digital measures, products and tools from the view of 11 leading hydropower operators. As a valuable complement to the lectures, all participants are invited to participate in a virtual tour of VERBUND´s "Digital Hydro Power Plant" on the demonstration day. Tested and implemented digitalization techniques (demonstration project of VERBUND) will be presented online via different virtual stations. VERBUND´s employees will report in cooperation with manufacturers on the implementation of the digital measures and the results achieved so far. Some measures have been in use for a number of years and have proven themselves in practical use.
Based on practical examples you will gain insights on how digital solutions are already successfully implemented and applied. This may contribute to improving and optimising digital solutions in your own company.
