Centralized Reliability and Events Database – Reliability Data for Nuclear Power Plant Components (2013, as per 2012-12) - ebook

The Centralized Reliability and Events Database (ZEDB) provides reliability data that can be used in ongoing and future probabilistic safety analyses (PSAs) conducted by the owners/operators of nuclear power plants contributing to the database.

In connection with the preparation and application of plant-specific PSAs, a need exists for plant-specific reliability data based on current operating experience with the equipment concerned.

The Centralized Reliability and Events Database (ZEDB) was set up by the Technical Association of Large Power Plant Operators (VGB) to meet this need. This database gathers and analyzes operating experience gained at a large number of nuclear power plants.

In 1999 a part of the operating experience stored in the ZEDB has been evaluated. For this, comparable components have been grouped together in collectives. The results have been published in a data book. Further analyses followed in 2000, 2002 and 2004, where with each publication the scope of operating experience and the number of collectives increased.

With the evaluation of December 2006, the format used for publishing the ZEDB analysis results has been changed to the loose-leaf compilation presented here. From this point on, updates of the existing collectives and new collectives are published in the form of lose leafs that replace or supplement the previous contents.

In 2007, 2008 and 2010 new evaluations have been made, where a part of the existing collectives has been updated and new collectives have been built. In the present evaluation 2012, all collectives have been completely revised and updated. The scope of the collectives has been expanded by over 40%.

The ZEDB analyses would not have been possible without the active contributions made by the power plant personnel whose efforts went far beyond the scope of their normal duties and are worthy of particular thanks.
