Guideline for the Construction and Operation of Ash Handling Plants - Print

This Guideline is a working document containing technical references for the planning, ordering, and operation of ash handling plants. Like all VGB information sheets and other guidelines, it does not purport to supply ready-made concepts for construction or operation, but it is rather meant to spell out necessary criteria to provide assistance in decision-making. Whenever performing any concrete plannings, the experience and suggestions of qualified suppliers should always be considered.

This Guideline applies to ash handling facilities for steam boilers, extending from the collection points of the combustion residues up to the places of dispatch from the delineated power station area. Although predominantly referring to solid fuels prevailing in the Federal Republic of Germany, it may also be used for other countries or different fuels when pertinent considerations are made.
