Kurzbeschreibung

Part A describes effective in-service monitoring of oils in turbines. Due to thermal, chemical, physical and mechanical impacts, turbine oils are subject to change during operation. These changes normally lead to a deterioration in the oil characteristics.

Efficient operation is achieved by ensuring long service life of the operating oil and preventing damage to the gensets.

In order to achieve this objective, this VGB-Standard sets out the analysis intervals and analysis parameters. In addition, warning limits are specified, to indicate when special measures become necessary.

This manual applies to mineral-based lubrication and control oils which, when new, comply with DIN 51515-1 and DIN 51515-2 or additional specifications of manufacturers and operators. The specifications apply to both the bearing oil circuit and the control oil circuit of turbine systems and relate to the viscosity ranges ISO VG 32, ISO VG 46 and ISO VG 68.

Part B describes effective in-service monitoring of fire-resistant fluids based on phosphate esters in turbines. Due to thermal, chemical, physical and mechanical impacts, phosphate esters are subject to change during operation. These changes normally lead to a deterioration in the fluid characteristics.

Efficient operation is achieved by ensuring long service life of the operating fluid and preventing damage to the gensets.

In order to achieve this objective, this standard sets out the analysis intervals and analysis parameters. In addition, warning limits are specified, indicating when special measurements become necessary.

This manual applies to phosphate esters which, when new, comply with the stipulations of ISO 10050. The specifications apply to both lubrication fluid and control fluid applications in steam and gas turbines and relate to viscosity classes ISO VG 32 and ISO VG 46.
