> List of New Power Plants in Europe: Update April 2009 < The list New Power Plants comprises power plants in planning and under construction in Europe. Energy sources like gas, hard coal, lignite, wind, water, waste etc. are considered. Based on the list, the planned total output (MW) and the portions of the sources of energy (MW) can be determined. Due to political and economic decisions, the list lives with further planning measures and with cancellations. The current list is available in the member area for download:

1) UCTE's Requirements of Power Stations to Ensure Grid Stability

UCTE, EURELECTRIC and VGB agreed on a technical paper to ensure system security within the interconnected UCTE system. For a common security level it is essential that the TSOs within UCTE have a common understanding on requirements to generating units and a common set is defined as a basis for bilateral agreements between each TSO and generating units connected to its grid. The document "Technical Paper - Definition of a set of requirements to generating units" developed by the UCTE AhG "Requirements to generators" sets up such a set of requirements.

2) EnBW and Nordex Forging Partnership for the Development of Wind Farm Projects

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG and Nordex AG plan to work together in wind farm development projects in Europe in the future. The two companies have forged a partnership for the joint development of wind power projects and for extending capacities of electricity generation by wind in the coming years.
"The background to this partnership is EnBW’s declared aim to almost double the share of renewable energies in its production portfolio to at least 20 percent by 2020. To this end, EnBW will be boosting its wind power capacity significantly", says Dr. Werner Götz, general manager of EnBW Renewables GmbH.
