5th ETC Generation and Technology Workshop "Operational Asset Management of Power Plants"
Operational Asset Management (OAM) of Power Plants is an integral method approach with a clear focus on efficient operation; i.e. optimal use of the existing fleet (asset). OAM combines organisation, information management and customization net technology. It achieves sustained success in the environment, reliability, availability and profitability and is influenced by maintenance, operation, site conditions, historic performance of materials, effective monitoring techniques and appropriate intervention strategies. It is necessary to take care of the so-called soft factors like the human resources. A management atmosphere has to be established that is characterized by high motivation and enthusiasm for the job, good team spirit and room for personal development. The European power plant operators have introduced effectually OAM tools and a lasting effect on further successfully operating power plants.
A general approach of asset management leads over options of management solutions and analyses to the purpose of the workshop is to exchange and discuss the different Operational Asset Management Strategies.
