2nd International VGB Workshop "Operating Experience with Fluidised Bed Firing Systems"
In continuation of the successful first Workshop "Operating Experience with Fluidised Bed Firing Systems 2002" in Cologne the second International VGB-Workshop will take place in Berlin (Germany) on September, 22 – 24, 2004.
In order to promote the exchange of experience between the plant operators the VGB working panel "Fluidised Bed Firing" supports this international workshop.
The workshop topics are:
- Operational organization and legal conditions
- Operational experiences
- Characteristics of fuels for fluidized bed combustion
- Co-combustion of substitute fuels
- Pressurized fluidized bed combustion
- Components
In total 20 lectures are intended to stimulate a lively discussion.
The participation of planning engineers and boiler manufacturers is also welcome, especially in view of future retrofit projects.
The workshop takes place in the Combined Heating and Power Plant of BEWAG in Berlin-Moabit. For hosting the workshop and for sponsoring the reception in the evening of the first day in the Museum of the Power Plant Moabit special thanks are due to BEWAG. A visit of the circulating fluidized bed boiler in the Moabit Power Plant is also part of the program.
On Thursday, September 23, discussions among the participants may be continued during an evening cruise with dinner on the river Spree.
The workshop concludes on Friday, September 24, with a visit to Europe’s largest CFB boilers at the Turow power plant in Bogatynia, Poland. Special thanks are due to the management of Turow for making this unique trip possible.
