Quality Award 2013

The VGB Quality Award 2013 was awarded to

• Bernd-Otto Schneider and Thomas Beck of Balcke Dürr GmbH

Particularly outstanding was “the quality of the partial replacement of ISH 2 tube coils” on Mehrum power plant.

During inspection in 2012 Balcke Dürr (LINK) performed extensive repair and modification work on the Mehrum power plant and was responsible for 3 large working areas.

The challenge of the project was the coordination of the work in combination with the other trades, with particular attention being paid to the quality of the work being performed, occupational safety and compliance with the ambitious schedule. All aspects were fulfilled confidently by Balcke Dürr. All aspects of quality were impressively observed and implemented.

The Quality Award was awarded by VGB PowerTech for the eighth time in recognition of outstanding quality in the new construction/reconstruction of power plants.
