At this year’s chemistry conference an interesting introduction and farewell lecture will be given by the long-term conference chairman Prof. Dr. Herwig Maier, who argues that all power plant is ultimately chemistry.

CIK14_VGB_Flyer_Seite_01Besides the presentation of the currently revised VGB-S-513 on the internal cleaning of water-tube steam generating plants and associated pipework, there are also interesting inputs to this focus on the overall power plant preservation.

As in the previous year, new aspects on the use of membrane technology in water treatment are highlighted and interesting innovations in measurement technology in this area as well as for water-steam cycles will be introduced. There are also interesting practical examples from the extensive experience of VGB in the examination of water-steam cycles. A report on the effects of sea water contamination on the WSC of an ultra-supercritical steam power plant will be given.

For nuclear chemistry the problems of on-line analysis in the primary circuit and the mussel growth in the cooling water system will be shown. First experiences with the chemical decontamination will be presented.

This year, the result of a round robin test will also be shown, this time the analytics of substitute fuels.

The programme is now available for download:
The conference will be accompanied by a Foyer Exhibition, which gives exhibitors the opportunity to present their companies and/or products. If you are interested to participate at the technical exhibition please contact:
