Due to the !arge number of interesting presentations, this year’s chemistry conference is again divided in two sections focusing on water treatment and water-steam-cycle / analytics on both days. ln the section of water treatment the aspects of efficient lime usage and treatment of river water as well as the use of membranes and ion exchangers are presented and discussed. For the section water­steam-cycle /analytics there are presentations about contamina­tion, sampling and monitaring as well as Round Robin Tests. ln the plenary session the new VGB Standard of sampling and monitor­ing of water-steam-cycles will be presented and the problem of Legionella in cooling water cycles will be discussed. The conference will be accompanied by an interesting exhibition.

VGB’s annual Conference “Chemistry in Power Plants” will take place in Hamburg/Germany. The conference is a forum for operators of energy utilities and industrial power plants. Operating experience will be discussed and technical developments will be represented in the field of power plant chemistry.

Conference languages are German and English with simultaneous translation.
