Quality Award 2009

The VGB Quality Award 2009 was granted to

• Walter Helmreich of the Austrian FERRO-Montagetechnik GmbH (FMT).

The prize was awarded for the onsite installation of the turbine, the electric generator and components of the water/steam cycle of the Walsum 10 power station operated by Evonik Steag GmbH and EVN AG. The  FERRO-Montagetechnik GmbH  convinced in the fields of organisation, cooperation, efficiency, quality and overall management of the project.

Walter Helmrich receives the VGB Quality Award 2009 handed over by Gerd Jäger

Gerd Jäger, chairman of VGB, emphasized on the occasion of the award ceremony at the VGB Congress POWER PLANTS in Lyon/France on 23rd September 2009:

"In fact, it should be a matter of course to deliver the specified services, and therefore quality. Summing up the experiences made during manufacturing, erection and commissioning of new power plant projects, it seems easier to determine deficiencies than to nominate good examples for the required quality. Therefore, especially in times of economic downturn, it is all the more important to recognize good performance."

VGB rewarded outstanding quality in the new building of power plants by the Quality Award for the fourth time yet.
