VGB Workshop "Flue Gas Cleaning 2007"
Legal requirements differ between different regions. With product quality regulations combustion residues can be applied as qualified by-products and step out of the waste image.
New flue gas cleaning systems are installed in many new or existing large combustion plants. For this reason an intensive exchange of experience with operators of existing flue gas cleaning systems is necessary. Respecting experience with existing flue gas cleaning systems reduces problems during start up and continuous operation of new systems.
Optimisation of flue gas cleaning devices results in reduced operation costs or, if required, higher performance to meet more stringent Emission Limit Values.
Integrating operational experience in new design of flue gas cleaning systems provides better market positions for the suppliers.
By utilisation of biomass for energy production instead of fossil fuels the CO 2 emission is realised as natural carbon recycling without addition to the atmosphere.
The workshop includes a site visit to the Wienstrom Biomass CHP Unit at Vienna.
