VGB KELI Conference 2008 with technical exhibition
The power generating industry is facing new challenges. Efforts have started to replace obsolete plants that were commissioned in the sixties and seventies of the past century. It is expected that power plants today can be operated continuously, highly efficient, environmentally friendly and safely. Reliable control and monitoring by means of electrical, instrumentation & control and information systems are keys to successful operation of these large-scale plants. At the KELI 2008 Conference lectures and presentations by power plant operators will be complemented with exhibition stands and comprehensive presentations of manufacturers and system providers. The innovative conference concept offers a trade-show-like atmosphere to complement the users’ presentations. This concept met with positive response from almost 300 participants from Germany and abroad when it was first implemented at the KELI 2006 conference in Neuss.
Key topics of this conference are:
-
Innovations in new plant construction projects
-
High-availability operation with old plants and new requirements
-
Current experiences from project handling and implementation
-
Quality assurance (based on VGB standards, IT security, enhancement of product quality and staff qualification) on the part of manufacturers and operators
- Fulfilment of new regulatory requirements (Plant Safety Ordinance, safety-related instrumentation and control system)
-
New generation of I&C personnel at manufacturers and operators
-
Know-how and loss of capacity
-
Students’ forum on future opportunities and prospects in the energy industry
We are pleased to count again on the support of VDE-ETG and VDI . Attracting the interest of future engineers to work in the industry will also be an issue; in this context, generous support will be provided for travel, accommodation, catering and conference documents for students.
The steering committee and the VGB office invite you to Hamburg.Essen, February 2008
