We differentiate between three categories of membership:
  • Ordinary members are companies operating or possessing plants for the generation of power and heat.
  • Sponsoring members are manufacturers and suppliers substantially contributing to planning, construction and operation of plants for the generation of power and heat.
  • Affiliated members are authorities, federations and associations interested in planning, construction and operation of plants for the generation of power and heat.

The ordinary member companies send their representatives to the technical committees, which are assisted by competent VGB technical officers in all areas of expertise. 2,300 members from member companies are currently working in more than 80 committees and contribute with their work to the professional competence of the VGB organisation.
