Indo-German Energy Forum: Roundtable on "Flexible coal-fired power plants – a sustainable solution"

 Flexible coal-fired power plants are an important focus of the IGEF. Such flexibility is an important prerequisite for the development of renewable energy in India - its capacity is expected to increase from the current 72,000 MW to 175,000 MW in 2022.

Revision of the VGB/BAW Standard "Corrosion Protection for Offshore Wind Structures" published

 The aim of this standard is to ensure that the considerable investments in offshore structures are safeguarded by appropriate corrosion protection systems. In this context, coating systems, for instance, are to protect the steel structures of offshore units from corrosion damage, during their entire service life – which is normally at least 25 years – and without requiring any expensive repair work.

Flexibility Toolbox now available

 The Flexibility Toolbox – a study on potential measures enabling flexible operation of coal fired power plants – was formally handed over to Indian partners on 19 April 2018.
