Fossil sources of energy will be of great importance for the electricity industry in the next decades. A comprehensive overview regarding national and international research and development concerning efficiency increase of power plants, separatation, storage and stocking of CO2 will be given on an international congress, which is scheduled to take place in Berlin on May 10 to 12, 2004. Beside the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Wolfgang Clement as patron and the Prime Minister of North Rhine Westphalia Peer Steinbrueck, numerous high-ranking representatives from politics, economics and science are invited as speakers.
Organisers of the congress are the German Energy Agency GmbH and the National Initiative Future Energies North Rhine Westphalia on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economics and Work and the Ministry for Traffic, Energy and Regional Planning of North Rhine Westphalia with technical support by the associations VGB PowerTech, GVSt, DEBRIV and EPPSA.
