Power Plant Information System TherPerf / KISSY – for Performance Indicators of Thermal Power Plants For over 30 years VGB collects data, which describe the power plant availability. The results of the statistical data evaluation are published anonymously. With the liberalization in the electricity market, requirements have changed both with regard to the significance of the indicators and concerning the data base of members.
The workshop guides users and potential users through the use, benefits and functions of the modern and powerful IT-tool. The seminar shows the user friendly online application, it shows the large data pool and the international statistic rules and definitions. In detail:
- The name of the new data base KISSY is an abbreviation of the German “Kraftwerksinformations System” or “power plants information system”. Users are able to enter the data directly and receive the results via internet. Many helpful tools like: online-support and automatically generated error list via e-mail to data supplier and a plausibility check to guard data quality, as well as a good performance are present. The use of a mass import facility for data uploading of an entire company with several different power stations by Excel facilitates are handling of these large amounts of data.
- In 2003 Eurelectric and VGB started to collaborate: the collection of data for performance statistics with the TherPerf data base of Eurelectric and the evaluation were transferred on the VGB data base. With the decision to merge these activities the next step was done, to integrate the new KISSY software concept in the European performance statistics for thermal power plants.
