“I would like to thank my colleagues for their confidence and Hans Bünting in particular for the modernisation achievements they have carried out so far at VGB. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the efforts and interests of the industry in the VGB PowerTech and to further develop the important, central contributions of technology in the development of the new energy system. Technology offers the solutions that are required for the shift of the energy system and VGB PowerTech is the right address for all those involved from the industry as well as from politics and society”, said Stamatelopoulos after his election.

Hans Bünting, former Chairman of VGB PowerTech: “In the past three years we have further developed VGB towards renewable energies and successfully implemented and made visible the urgently needed synergies between renewable and conventional generation. VGB is thus setting an example for technology and its implementation in the energy turnaround. With Mr Stamatelopoulos, we have been able to gain an outstanding personality from the energy industry as my successor in this office.”
