VGB Workshop Flue Gas Cleaning 2014

The annual VGB Workshop on Flue Gas Cleaning is organised by the VGB European Working Group “Flue Gas Cleaning”. The programme provides a platform for VGB members and other interested experts to gain information and discuss developments in pollutant abatement and to gain experience in operation of flue gas cleaning installations.

This year's workshop covers a wide range of flue gas cleaning activities.

Beside the retrofit activities of EDF in France there are presentations about experiences of SCR operation in different power plants. Aspects of ESP upgrading and temperature decrease will be presented. As a special aspect this year’s workshop includes proposals to minimize project-related risks for FGC retrofits.

For the desulphurization step dry and wet sorption processes with plant experiences and with data driven analysis will be presented. The behavior of mercury in a dual-loop FGD will be shown as well.

The BREF-LCP process is going on and the first draft of the revised document will have a great influence on the plant operation in the future.

Presentations by specialists from all over Europe provide a basis for discussion for all participants of the workshop.
