For over 30 years VGB collects data, which describe the power plant availability. The results of statistical calculations are published anonymously. All the time events in thermal power plants had been in the focus of these statistics. With the liberalization in the electricity market requirements changed themselves: requirements concerning VGB, concerning the significance of the indicators itself and concerning the data base of members.

The workshop guides users and potential users through the functions and advantage of this modern and powerful IT-tool. It shows the comfortable online application with a large data pool according to international statistic rules and definitions. In detail:

- The name of the new data base KISSY is an abbreviation of the German “power plants information system”. Users are able to enter the data directly and receive the results via internet. Many helpful tools like: online-support, automatically generated error list via e-mail to data supplier and plausibility check, as well as a good performance and a self-explaining surface are given. Even the possibility of a mass import for data uploading of an entire company with several different power stations facilitates the handling of application.

- New performance indicators considering not only the interests of the power plant staff, but also of the load dispatcher and the energy trader. Examples for those indicators are the indicators for the dispatcher like the “schedule faith” or new market indicators, which make a relation between a technical object and the EEX market price like the “commercial availability”.
