Component Integrity

The Working Panel deals with safety-relevant questions concerning component integrity. This especially includes questions related to materials engineering, non-destructive testing, structure-mechanical calculation methods and water chemical (incl. radiolysis gas) aspects for the necessary safety-relevant verification.

Tasks

The Working Panel (WP) deals with safety-relevant questions concerning component integrity. This especially includes questions related to materials engineering, non-destructive testing, structure-mechanical calculation methods and water chemical (incl. radiolysis gas) aspects for the necessary safety-relevant verification.

If necessary, the WP initiates or supports failure analyses and research programmes for safety-related investigations, resp. for the further development of certain aspects of the component integrity.

Further tasks:

Contribution to the work on safety standards.
Technical coordination of common response to authorities and external technical expert organisations.
Monitoring the state of the art in science and technology.
