Tasks

The Working Panel (WP) deals with questions from the field of neutron-physical and thermal-hydraulic core design as well as from the design and the operational behaviour of fuel assemblies and fuel rods and the associated safety cases.

If necessary, the WP initiates and manages research programmes for safety-related investigation, resp. the further development of fuel. They can be carried out on a national or an international level.

Further tasks:

• Contribution to the work on safety standards.
• Technical coordination of common response to requests by authorities and external technical expert organisations.
• Monitoring the state of the art in science and technology.
