Change in the management of VGB PowerTech e.V.

With effect from 1 April 2018, Dr Oliver Then takes over the management of VGB PowerTech as successor to Erland Christensen.

Energy Monitoring 2018: Public consultation launched

In accordance with the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and the Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB), the Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) and the Bundeskartellamt (BKartA) have the joint task of carrying out monitoring in the electricity and gas sectors. A joint data collection will also be carried out this year for the years 2017/2018.

Oil analyses for efficient and reliable electricity generation

As of January 2018, VGB PowerTech expand their services for electricity supply with their new oil laboratory. The new oil lab offers all services for oil management with its state-of-the art lab for the analysis of lubricants and insulating oils.

As of January 1, 2018, the “Technical Services” of the VGB Group are part of the organisational structure of VGB PowerTech Service GmbH.

Network Codes: Impact of the European Guideline on System Operation on Existing and New Generating Units

Since 2009, VGB is working together with EURELECTRIC on the European grid code topics: VGB is in charge of the technical and operational codes and EURELECTRIC of the market codes. Their complementary actions have been recognized by the EC and ACER since both associations got seats when the EC created the grid connection and system operation European Stakeholder Committees (ESC).
