Registration for the side programme and the technical sightseeing tours can be made using the registration form or online. All support programme trips will only take place provided that the minimum number of participants sightseeing tours is reached.

Side Programme

• City Tour Hamburg with Harbor Boat Trip
  The coach trip will start at CCH-Congress Center passing the banks of the Alster Lake, the consulates and the picturesque residences of former wealthy Hamburg merchants. Your guests will visit the centre of the city: The Mönckebergstraße, the main shopping street of Hamburg, the City Hall, the Jungfernstieg or „Virgins Walk“, and the Lombardsbrücke.

• Tour of the Warehouse District with a Visit to the Spice Museum including Tea Tasting
  Ride the bus to Hamburg‘s warehouse district – the largest single warehouse complex in Europe. Behind numerous arches, Gothic vaults and Renaissance windows billions to store coffee, carpets, spices, tea, tobacco, and much more.

• Excursion to „Altes Land“
Departure from the CCH by private coach with a professional English-speaking guide to the largest fruit-growing region in Europe. Some two million fruit trees cover an area of about 170 square kilometres. The region with its typical “Altländer” farms and their splendid doorways is particularly beautiful during the cherry and apple blossom in May and June. Your group travels along the Elbe dyke past old farmhouses to the towns of Jork, Lühe and Stade.

Technical Visit

• Reliable energy for Hamburg – guided site tour Twin unit of Moorburg’s hard coal power plant
  In the South of Hamburg, one of the most modern and ecologically friendliest hard coal power plants of Europe is being erected: the power plant Moorburg, with an efficiency factor of 46.5 percent. Approx. 11 billion kilowatt hours power per annum will be produced after its commissioning in 2014. This covers almost the complete power requirement of Hamburg.

• Factory Tour DURAG Group Hamburg
  DURAG Group is a 67 years of age Hamburg-based manufacturer of instrumentation for Combustion Technology as well as Environmental Monitoring. The instruments are used in systems and solutions for ignition of flames, control of flames as safety device, for visualisation and online-temperature analysis of thermal processes, as well as for emission monitoring and emission data acquisition and reporting according to legal requirements.
